Urdu Translation

´ابن شہاب کہتے ہیں مجھ کو ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن نے جابر بن عبداللہ انصاری رضی اللہ عنہما سے یہ روایت نقل کی کہ` آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وحی کے رک جانے کے زمانے کے حالات بیان فرماتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایک روز میں چلا جا رہا تھا کہ اچانک میں نے آسمان کی طرف ایک آواز سنی اور میں نے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا کیا دیکھتا ہوں کہ وہی فرشتہ جو میرے پاس غار حرا میں آیا تھا وہ آسمان و زمین کے بیچ میں ایک کرسی پر بیٹھا ہوا ہے۔ میں اس سے ڈر گیا اور گھر آنے پر میں نے پھر کمبل اوڑھنے کی خواہش ظاہر کی۔ اس وقت اللہ پاک کی طرف سے یہ آیات نازل ہوئیں۔ اے لحاف اوڑھ کر لیٹنے والے! اٹھ کھڑا ہو اور لوگوں کو عذاب الٰہی سے ڈرا اور اپنے رب کی بڑائی بیان کر اور اپنے کپڑوں کو پاک صاف رکھ اور گندگی سے دور رہ۔ اس کے بعد وحی تیزی کے ساتھ پے در پے آنے لگی۔ اس حدیث کو یحییٰ بن بکیر کے علاوہ لیث بن سعد سے عبداللہ بن یوسف اور ابوصالح نے بھی روایت کیا ہے۔ اور عقیل کے علاوہ زہری سے ہلال بن رواد نے بھی روایت کیا ہے۔ یونس اور معمر نے اپنی روایت میں لفظ «فواده» کی جگہ «بوادره» نقل کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah Al-Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet "While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from the sky. I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira' sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I got afraid of him and came back home and said, 'Wrap me (in blankets).' And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses (of Quran): 'O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!' Arise and warn (the people against Allah's Punishment),... up to 'and desert the idols.' (74.1-5) After this the revelation started coming strongly, frequently and regularly."
